Kid Friendly, Easy & Fun!
I love doing art projects with my kids, but we rarely find the time to do anything artsy anymore. We are so busy during the week and usually gone on the weekends doing some kind of outdoor activity. This weekend, however, Josh had to finish building a fence up in the desert for some of our friends so I was home with the kids this weekend. The weather was rainy, cold and just down right crummy.
We had to go to town on Saturday to take Harper into the doctor - she had the croup! She had a fever all week with a phlemy cough so on Friday I took her into the doctor. Poor baby! She was so miserable! The doctor said her oxygen was a little low - no doubt from her bronchial sacs being inflamed - so they wanted to check on her the next day to make sure she was doing better. Nothing makes your heart ache more as a mother than seeing your kids get sick. So anyways, I dragged all four kids into town on Saturday (Kendall ended up being checked out too and she had an ear and yeast infection!!).
As we were waiting for prescriptions to be filled, we strolled through WalMart looking for items to make a project with. We found some cool frames that were only $.97/each! How can you beat that?? We got heart frames for the girls and square frames for the boys.

I had a few acrylic paints as home, but we picked up a few extra colors. They were $2.97 per color.
We had paint brushes and sponges in many assorted sizes, I laid newspaper down and just basically let the kids go crazy with painting their frames.

Being so careful! This is great for fine motor skills.
Acrylics dry pretty fast, but I waited overnight to attach the ribbon on the backs just to make sure everything was really dry. Kids tend to clump paint!
I took a stapler, punched twice and voila!
We could have added pictures, but we only had a little time. Be creative and have fun!
