It's been a crazy and awesome last two weeks with starting my coffee business and on top of sampling and selling coffee like a mad woman, I've made six cakes in the last two weeks alone! A few were for us, but here's just two of the cakes that I made.
My lighting was horrible last night when I took the picture, but this was a cake for Teacher's Appreciation day. They were having a Mexican fiesta at school with a taco bar and they wanted a cake to match the occasion. I thought a Mexican embroidery cake would be beautiful. It turned out pretty cool and is actually one of my favorites I've made! This was a chocolate fudge cake iced in vanilla buttercream.
My sweet daughter Kendall is turning four years old tomorrow (*tear*) and she requested a zebra print cake for her birthday. I think this cake would look so cute for a teenage girl's birthday as well! We went to JoAnn Fabrics and picked out the bling-bling together and she helped mix the cake and frosting and willingly ate the scraps of fondant. This was a red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting (of course!! there's no better way to eat a red velvet cake!) covered in buttercream fondant. I'm so excited to celebrate my little girl's birthday tomorrow!
We are getting much-needed moisture today and it's glorious! I hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday!
